Chinese barbecued pork spare ribs

ServesServes Serves 8 - 10 as part of a barbecue selection


  • 4 spring onions
  • 2cm piece fresh ginger
  • 100ml light soy
  • 50ml rice vinegar
  • 100g hoisin sauce
  • 25g white sugar
  • 1.5kg pork spare ribs


  1. Peel and dice the spring onions and ginger
  2. Mix with the rest of the ingredients and allow to marinate overnight
  3. Cook on a hot barbecue, drizzling over the excess marinade as the ribs are cooking until they are caramelised and cooked through
  4. Your barbecue will need a good clean after cooking the ribs but always remember to leave the barbecue well oiled after each use
